The architecture of Italian migration to Argentina
Abstract
The presence of a considerable number of architects, engineers and Italian workers has contributed to the city planning and to the architectural design of the most important Argentina cities and has had a great importance since the eighteenth century.
A subdivision in periods is useful to introduce in organic and comprehensible way the artistic culture of the Italian emigration in Argentina but the most important aspect is that each phase has been characterized by the work of important architects such as Giovanni Andrea Bianchi, Carlo Zucchi, Giovanni Battista Araldi, Francesco Tamburini and Mario Palanti.
La presenza di un numero considerevole di architetti, ingegneri e di maestranze italiane ha contribuito alla pianificazione urbanistica e alla configurazione architettonica delle città più importanti dell'Argentina e ha avuto una grande importanza dal XVIII secolo.
Una suddivisione in periodi è utile per introdurre in modo organico e comprensibile la cultura artistica della emigrazione italiana in Argentina, ma l'aspetto più importante è che ogni fase è stata caratterizzata dal lavoro di importanti architetti come Giovanni Andrea Bianchi, Carlo Zucchi, Giovanni Battista Araldi, Francesco Tamburini e Mario Palanti.
