Abstract
The aim of this paper is to analyse both the Italian migration in Chile during the 19th and 20th centuries and the most recent one, with a focus on the Italian training programme offered on Chilean territory (Italian Schools). Then it is provided an analysis of the current situation regarding the study of the Italian language by Italian descendants, a report on emigration press and other media in Italian, a look at the Italian-Chilean association and at the ecclesiastical institutions for the Italian community.
Finally, it is included an analysis of the data collected personally through a questionnaire – administered online through social networks – addressed to first-generation Italians residing in Chile and some interviews with Italian institutions and media in Chile.
